Notice of the SAICA Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of members of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) will be held in Gauteng at The Theatre on the Track, 4A Kyalami Boulevard, Kyalami Business Park, 1 Monza Place, Kyalami Park, on 21 May 2009 at 09h00 to transact the following business:
- The consideration of the Annual Financial Statements of the Institute for the year ended 31 December 2008.
- The consideration of a report of the Executive President.
- The consideration of a report by the auditors
- The reappointment of KPMG Inc as the auditors.
Due and proper notice will be provided of the aforementioned meeting via the following means:
- Electronic mail – if you are registered on our database as a member capable of accepting communications from SAICA in this manner (email).
- Post – if you are registered on our database as a member unable to accept communications from SAICA in electronic format.
Proxy forms will be available on the SAICA website: www.saica.co.za from 21 April 2009, and mailed to those referred to in 2) above.
Completed proxies must reach the registered office of SAICA at 7 Zulberg Close, Bruma Lake, Johannesburg, 2198; or P O Box 59875, Kengray 2100; or faxed to +27 11 6216823, no later than 09h00 on Tuesday 19 May 2009, 48 hours before the time appointed for the AGM and must be addressed to:

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland Diploma in IFRS end of course exam will take place on 27th June 2009 in Dublin, London and New York. The course which is available by distance and classroom option commences this February and will be offered again in September '09.

Financial reporting forum on income tax
Hong Kong Institute of CPAs is organizing a forum on 7 July 2009 to discuss the IASB exposure draft on Income Tax,
which proposes to replace IAS 12 with a new standard on income tax, but retain the temporary difference approach for deferred taxes.
